I know it is only Spring Training, but kinda stinks being the only winless team. Padres about to win in a couple innings, and the Mets defeated us today to get their first win. I'd like a little momentum going into the regular season. Hope they win some soon as 0-6 is not what I want to see.

reports from Spring Training are that Uggla's been hitting well. If he and BJ have normal season by their standards (.240 and 25-30 HRs for Uggla and around .260 and 20-25 HRs with a few steals for Bossman Junior) then we're a 100 win team imo.

Finally! A 4-4 game after 7 innings, Atlanta gets 4 in the 8th to help get to an 8-4 victory. First win of the pre season. Now I can stop watching until April.

Kris Medlen left today's game with a forearm strain. Hopefully it's nothing too serious, the last thing we need is to be hurt before the season even begins.

Beachy leaves today's game with Bicep tightness.

Ligament damage per MRI on Medlen. Not good. Immediately go out and sign Ervin Santana tells you that they know the worse is likely. Crap.

awful for Kris, I really feel bad for him after he made that comeback from Tommy John a few years ago. I wish him a full recovery, and all the best if he has indeed pitched his last game in an Atlanta uni.

I love the move to add Ervin Santana, he's a quality pitcher (he ranked 4th in the AL last year in quality starts) and should fill in the gap which Medlen will leave in the rotation. It also shows that this team wants to win, a few years ago, there's no way we would've spend $14 million for a one year rental in Free agency to replace a starter lost for the season to injury.

I hate that we had to give up a first round pick though. But I'm glad to see that ownership was willing to exceed the $100 million payroll, it gives me hope.

Awful news on Beachy and Medlen, they may never be the same they were. Good to add a quality pitcher in Santana.

What a hit we're taking.
Beachy is the type of guy that could have success throughout his entire career but the injuries are handicapping him.

It's very frustrating.

I blame Josh Smith...

Oh! Wait. Wrong board.

Sorry.

So we are looking at a rotation of,

1) Minor
2) Santana
3) Teheran
4) Garcia
5) Wood
6) Floyd *** spot starter/long relief type role when he comes back from injury.

Sure wish Tim Hudson was still around!

Beachy won't be out long, they said he'll miss his next spring training start and maybe a little bit more. He should be back in the rotation by mid-April or sooner.

I was out of town the past week, I thought I read before I left that he would need surgery. Then I come back to hear Medlen may need TJ again. So is Beachy not needing surgery??

No, he's just dealing with some soreness

Indeed, I really don't wanna see him go through another surgery again.

Medlen's 2nd TJ surgery scheduled for tomorrow. Beachy to seek 2nd opinion in LA, he visted Dr. James Andrews today along with Medlen.
