Freddie Freeman is not in the Braves' starting lineup on Thursday.

Freeman has fallen into a bit of a slump and is now batting just .202/.336/.422 in 30 total games played, so he'll grab a day of mental and physical rest as the Braves wrap up a series against the Nationals. Austin Riley is at first base and hitting cleanup versus left-hander Jon Lester. Ehire Adrianza will play third base.

Once again the bullpen blows another win. This has been the theme of 2021 for the Braves, that and injuries. The Braves had a 2-0 lead at the end of the 5th, Guerrero Jr tied the game with a HR in the 6th, Ozuna put the Braves back in the lead the following inning with a HR and Minter spoiled it allowing 3 runs in the 8th.

Thankfully AA re-signed Shane Greene and Chris Martin should be back this weekend.

Blue Jays win 4-1. Back to back games the Braves bullpen has allowed 3 runs.

Ronald Acuna was removed from Thursday's game against the Blue Jays with an apparent lower leg injury.

Acuna planted awkwardly while crossing first base on a groundout in the bottom of the seventh inning and went sprawling. It looked really bad initially, but he did eventually climb to his feet and walk off the field under his own power, showing only a slight limp. He may have twisted his left ankle a bit. Stay tuned for updates.

Bottom of the 8th today's game was tied 4-4. Bluejays scored 4 runs in the top of the 9th to win 8-4.

Blue Jays sweep the Braves, winning 8-4. Over the last 3 games, the Braves bullpen has allowed 11 runs. Unbelievable! We went from having one of the best bullpens last season to one of the worst this season. Paying Will Smith $40 mill and letting O'Day, Greene(yes re-signed recently) and Melancon go, are the biggest mistakes in the AA tenure as GM.

Nice 5-1 win vs Milwaukee yesterday. Ian performed as expected.

A sweep vs Milwaukee would be nice. Acuna returning today?

Wow, I feel bad for him but angry at him at the same time. Poor guy.

Ronald Acuna (ankle) is back in the Braves' lineup Monday.

Acuna didn't start any of the Braves' weekend games in Milwaukee, but he was able to pinch-hit Sunday and is back in the lineup Monday. The superstar is in right field and batting leadoff against Taijuan Walker and the Mets.
