Definately, and its not like he's old or anything, might as well pay the man.

Not to be a jerk or anything, but i see Andrew playing for a big contract, then slacking off for the rest of his career. Every year, it seems to me he stops running and jogging around more and more. Just seems at times like he doesnt care. I have always loved him, but with the talent we have in the farm( either to trade for someone or to promote them), i say we stand pat unless he comes down on his terms.

You don't treat the best player on your team like that, esp one who is a sure fire Hall of Famer.

Andruw is a class act and its 100% reasonable of him to expect market value for his services.

I agree lpsevier. AJ wants to be mentioned for years to come and wants to break records. He's going to continue to be great defensively and still produce offensively.

Just heard some bad news..

During the Mets game today they were saying they DEFINITELY think Andruw is gone, and they said he might even get $150 million. Their reasoning for that much money being that he might be "The best defensive CF since Willie Mays."

I really don't want to lose Andruw.

I would also hate to see him go and I also heard them during the Mets game. Just prepare yourself for it to happen, but maybe AJ's willing to give the Braves the discount that he did before, but this time around it may cost us 120 million. JS is already preparing this team for the loss of AJ if it happens.

Wouldn't make sense to prepare for his departure. He is irreplacable and would be a big blow to our lineup on offense and defense and the leadership in the clubhouse. JS better talk to whoever he has to anf figure out where to get the money necessary to resign AJ. He has said that he wants to stay and will probably give a discount but not to much. How cheap do you think you can sign arguably the best CF in baseball?

It makes prefect sense to prepare for his departure if your a fan, because this will emotionally effect many people, and it will prove that we can't trust the Liberty Group to put this team into the right position to win. The red flags were up before they even bought the team because I said many times that they were going to be cheap. AJ needs to be a Braves for the rest of his career and we can't expect another discount like he gave Atlanta once before.

Agree whole heartily and the unexpected will happen when AJ goes elsewhere cuz our new owners are the likes of the A's front office, fill the stadium enough to make just enough $$ and could careless about winning championships.

Return to Atlanta Braves
