Sounds like Wright wants to get the same opportunity in Atlanta that Touki and Allard got. A brillant performance in AAA last night going 7 innings - giving up 1 hit and 1 walk while striking out 8.
Bad news on Soroka - he has not been cleared to throw, and he is more than likely out for the season. They do expect he'll pitch in an offseason league, so he's expected to be back 100% next season.

Bryce Wilson matches Wright with an amazing 8 inning, 1 hit, 0 walk, 13 K performance - only 98 pitches - getting the win against old friend Lucas Sims.

Wow, I'm surprised - only because of the great competition he had at AAA. It shows how quickly he's jumped up the prospect list - considering Wright and Touki are amazing. Or maybe it was timing.

Riley hit another homer today. It looks like he's on track. I think he'll start next year at AAA, but if he starts lowering the SO's and keeps up the power, he can force the issue. He'll turn 22 when next season starts, so there's no hurry.

It's crazy - one after another after another. He's 11-2 with a 2.87 ERA this season - starting at Rome, promoted to Florida, and now in Mississippi. And he's another lefty. He was picked after Ian Anderson and Joey Wentz, so it's easy to see why he's been over-shadowed, but he might be closest of them (all 3 20 years old) to the majors - and at and athletic looking 6'6 225, he passes all the eye tests. In most organizations, he'd be the 1st or 2nd best pitching prospect. With Atlanta, he's got to take a ticket and stand in line.
Btw, the Braves 4th round pick in that draft - Bryse Wilson.

We're used to all these guys succeeding, but that was a big one for Anderson, because it was his first dominant win at AA. A wierd thing about his stats - for his minor league career, he's only 8-14 in 53 starts even though he's got an excellent 2.71 career ERA.

He must not be getting much run support.

Re: It's All About The Minor Leagues
Touki did it again last night with 6 innings, 7 SO's, 3 hits, 2 walks, 0 ER's. His AAA stats are now 5-0 with a 1.43 ERA, 50.1 innings in 8 games (> 6 innings a game), 35 hits, 56 SO's and 17 walks.

Re: It's All About The Minor Leagues
Austin Riley singled, doubled and homered today. After tough injury-plagued June and July, he bounced back with a strong August. In 105 at bats, he OPS'd .936 with 7 homers and 10 doubles. He still has a striking out issue like Acuna did, but there's no doubt - he's an elite prospect. It looks like he'll be ready for the majors next season - when he'll turn 22.
