But were not the Braves also looking at Span? Think we were looking at moving him into Left. Would have been nice to add him to the mix since Prado will be at 3rd.

That's right. He went at the trade deadline last year, right? Forgot that. So used to seeing him in the Philly uniform, I forgot he was traded last season. Well then, at least we are keeping him out of the NL East. :D

Have to say that Haren to the Nats is not good for Atlanta. Makes for one heck of a #4 starter. They are setting themselves up nicekt to repeat as NL East Champs. Braves need to add some pop in LF.

Angels sign Joe Blanton,

So I guess they are out of the Greinke sweepstakes, traded for Hanson and signed Blanton. They still have Weaver and Wilson.

Phillies trade for Ben Revere, ugh I hate this, Revere is a wonderful young player and was one of my favorites

Would you rather they have Josh Hamilton or Ben Revere?

I doubt that they would've signed Hamilton

Bob Nightengale of USA Today was told by a rival general manager that the Yankees are "quietly running a background check" on Josh Hamilton.
The news comes on the same morning when the New York Post's Joel Sherman penned a column where he indicated that he wouldn't be surprised to see the Yankees ultimately go after Hamilton. They might just be doing some prep work in case Hamilton's price drops, which looks like it could happen with the Rangers possibly preferring to trade for Justin Upton. If Hamilton doesn't wind up re-signing with Texas, all bets are off when it comes to where he'll wind up.

Other than in our division New York is the worst place he can end up, I hate the Yankees' "oh we can just buy everyone we want" mentality but more impotently this would be awful for Hamilton as a person; we all know about his demons and him going into the pressure cooker that is New York might make those demons resurface. I think it was Olney who said it best: What's best for him is to go back to Texas where he'd be in a familiar situation. Familiarity is what's best for him in overcoming his problem.
