Turner singles on a ground ball to LF, Acuna over runs it, allowing a second run to score. 5-2 Braves.

Second time in this series that Acuna has done that. :banghead:

After getting down 3-1 to Machado, Gausman strikes out Machdo. 5-2 Braves end of the 3rd

Hopefully Gausman can settle in now and give us 2-4 innings.

That was not pretty, but Braves are still up by 3. Gausman wasn't able to throw his fastball in the strike zone. All of them were low, so at least he's not going to give up any homers that way.

Fried on a 2-2 count allows a 2 out solo HR to RCF to Muncy, tie game 5-5

I'm going to bed, hell of a season folks. Next season work on less walks and HRs allowed, and more hitting in the post season.

Add another HR to that. 16 walks and 7 HRs allowed by Braves pitchers in this series. :banghead:

Braves win 6-5! Freeman with the game winning HR. Vizcaino almost blew it but the Dodgers leave em stranded on second and third.

Snitker completely over-managed that game. I was fine with bringing in Gausman because of Newcomb's control issues, but putting in Fried when Gausman had 2 outs and nobody on with the pitcher's spot due up first the next inning was really something. Oh well, we got away with it.

I also always found it ridiculous how so many people didn't want homefield advantage because of the Braves' struggles at STP this year. The homefield advantage won us the game today -- Buehler was shook from the home crowd. Young players also do better when playing in front of a galvanizing crowd and not a hostile one.

Folty vs. Rich Hill tomorrow at 4:30.

I agree with you on Snitkers moves last night.

I think the real problem is that we're playing the Dodgers instead of the Rockies. But yeah, maybe the Dodgers would have been smarter to use Beuhler in game 1 or 2, so they'd have a veteran in game 3. Still, it's hard to argue about what they did. They won game 1 with one of the hottest pitchers in baseball, and they won game 2 with arguably the best pitcher of this generation. The Dodgers were set up real well to win this series. Hopefully Folty gets some success in game 4, and Newc learns from his disappointments.
