Should we pursue Cliff Lee?
What prospects would you be willing to part with?

Re: Should we pursue Cliff Lee?
I highly doubt the Braves make any trades, if so for a bat.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have Cliff Lee. I would trade any prospect or young player not named Hanson, Jurrjens , Heyward, Freeman, Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino, Kimbrel, Venters. Would also include Kawakami and one of Melky/McClouth .
We still have some pieces to offer, like Schafer, Minor, one of Melky/McClouth, Bethancourt, Delgado,
Rohrbough, C Johnson, Kala Ka'aihue, DeVall.
Not sure if Braves would part ways with SS prospect Salcedo, the Yankees and Mariners were also pursuing Salcedo but he signed with the Braves.

Re: Should we pursue Cliff Lee?
At the highest a B grade prospect and lower grade prospects.
Cliff Lee would most likely be a rental for the rest of the season and we'll be able to look forward to draft pick compensation from the team that signs him. I doubt our ownership is willing to make the investment, and if they did they'd need to be sure we can make a real run at the World Series.
He also has performance bounces that are reachable that go as high as $2 million.

Why would he be a half yr rental ? Could free up money by getting rid of KK, and Chipper looks like he will retire at seasons end. If he does do the Braves still owe him that money ?
