I would like to adopt the 2004 Boston Red Sox motto , Why not us ? !
The Braves are the biggest underdogs in this playoffs, are a beat up team losing players to injuries(Chipper, Prado, Medlen, Jair), but they have the most heart of any team in this playoffs IMO .
Buster Olney compared this yrs Braves to the 1988 Dodgers who had an injured Kirk Gibson and Mike Scioscia .
Go Braves ! Why not us ? ! Win it for the Skipper !

Here's hoping that Derrick Lee wakes up and starts mashing like i think he's capable of doing. If we can get Infante on base and Lee clearing the bases, we should be ok against San Fran. Tough starting pitching but we've fared well against them.

This board is so dead, can't have a good game thread going. Rather put up with trolls on Espn board .

The thread I created on the general board is fairly active.
I hope Tommy is able to start game 2 after fouling a ball off his eye.

Braves down 3 runs come back in extra innings. Thanks to a key inning ending dbl play started by Glaus, next inning Ankiel sends one into the water. Braves win 5-4 .
And they're coming home, where they have the most home wins in MLB this season !

What an amazing come from behind victory tonight. I was thinking about it afterwards, and this has got to rank up there as one of the best Braves playoffs victories ever.
On the road, as the underdog, and we came back late to win in extra innings with what has got to be our weakest offensive line-up in the postseason to date. And just like that, momentum shifted. The team with the best home record in baseball has homefield advantage and will have an even bigger crowd than SF's stadium can hold. Add in the fact that we've been out of the playoffs for a couple of years, coupled with Cox's last postseason run, and I'm sure we'll see a re-energized crowd compared to postseasons past.

Well , Bobby Cox cost the Braves a win in game 3 . One out away from the win, brings in a lefty to face a lefty hitter who kills lefty pitching. Giants tie the game the get winning run 2 plays later on Conrad's 3rd error of the game and his 9th error in last 8 games.
As much as I hate to say it, I will be glad when Bobby is gone . Damn near gave me a heart attack tonight .

Did Glaus get injured during Game 2 or something?
I cringed when I saw Conrad in the line-up today. And then he costs us the ball game in epically tragic fashion. The guy obviously has some major confidence issues right now. He even looks like a deer caught in headlights at the plate, too. I'm extremely unhappy with him, but I also know that he's like our 3rd or 4th option at this point.
The fact that we almost had a 2-1 series lead on the Giants with what we're trotting out there on the field right now is downright amazing. Thank goodness for our dominant pitching and the Giants' weak hitting...
Oh, and don't get me started on Heyward. What a huge disappointment he has been so far.

i agree totally. very frustrating watching heyward go 0 for. makes buster posey look so much better. i sure hope bobby takes brooks out of the lineup for monday night. it was our series to win but now i dont believe we can pull off the next two.

On the front of yahoo sports.
"BAD COMPANY"
"Brooks Conrad's three errors in Atlanta's 3-2 loss to the Giants earned him an unenviable spot in the record book."
Other things that have made me get upset:
Jason Heyward
Derek Lee yawning after striking out.

This series made me embarrassed to be a Braves fan. Sure, we are banged up and were the underdogs, so losing is not my issue. My problem is that this team came off as one of the most unprofessional and poorly coached teams to ever sniff the playoffs. No one can field, Gonzo is not running plays out, Cox can't start the right guys or use the right relievers to save his life...
McCann, Lowe, and Huddy deserved better.
