ST Braves beat Tigers 4-3 today walk off...

Post#1 » by Nemesis21 » Thu Mar 3, 2011 9:51 pm

Went to this game, at Champions Stadium at Walt Disney World. Sat behind home plate, 2nd level . Also going tomorrow(vs Blue Jays), Saturday(vs Mets) and Tuesday(vs Yankees)

Matt Young had the walk off rbi single. Jair looked good except for the HR he gave up. Pitched 3 innings. Chipper was at 3b for the first time since injury, he looked real good. Had a couple grounders hit his way and he looked fine.Got a few autographs, most notably Dan Uggla. :D

Uggla and Heyward did not play. Uggla was getting a day off, and Heyward had a groin injury during yesterday's game vs Red Sox. Heyward may play saturday.

Is that game at Champions Stadium(Disney) ? I go to spring training games there. You can get there as early as 10:00 am for 1:05 pm games, players take the field to stretch and run at 9:30, practice(batting, fielding etc) starts at 10:00. I always go hang around the Braves dugout(first base side). And wait for players to come to the first row of seating. Most usually sign over there after practice at 11:30 when the visiting team takes field to practice.

Also some sign near home plate, you have to pass your ball or hat or magazine under the fence.

What did you get Heyward to sign? If it was a baseball did he sign it on the sweet spot?

It's on a baseball that has the Braves with Tomahawk logo, he signed it on the opposite side of the logo. It was crazy were he was signing, lot of people shoving each other. Didn't really have a chance to ask for him to sign a certain spot.

The one I got of Uggla is on the same kind of baseball, he signed directly under the Braves logo. :D I told him glad he is on our side now. :D He said glad to be in Atl, said he and the team have already connected well. I wished him and all the others I met/got autographs from good health and a good season.

Thanks for the tips Nemesis. The game I'm going to is at Champions Stadium and I got a hotel about 10 minutes away, I'll plan on getting there early. :)

Only got one autograph today at the game vs Yankees, and it's not a bad one I must say.
Dale Murphy :wordyo:

Braves lost to Yankees 5-4, came back after the 5th inn, they were down 4-1. Jurrjens had a very rough 4 IP 4 ER on 6 hits.

I use to get baseballs signed, still do, but not as often due to the cost. I started going with magazines and having photos printed at Costco. I like how the photos look and if you search online you can find some very interesting ones. The players also seem to like to sign the photos and comment about them, because they rarely have signed them since it came from an online image.

Are you done with spring training or intend on attending more games?
