I saw this on a site that I frequent but no actual link to what media source.
“What Jason needs to realize is that Jason at 80 percent is a force, and Jason at 80 percent is better than a lot of people in this league. And that there are a bunch of his teammates that are out there playing with discomfort and not healthy, and still going at it.” – Atlanta Braves third baseman Chipper Jones on injured teammate Jason Heyward, who has been out of the lineup since May 21 with a shoulder issue.

I don't have a problem with it, media made it bigger than it really is.

I have no problem with it.
I like Chipper being vocal about the situation because what he said is true.

Re: Chipper Jones on Jason Heyward
Funny how Chipper can call out someone else but at 40 he does not know his body to the point he came back too early two years in a row. Also, teams always come with this fake we are family mess. If you are family he should have said that to Jason not to the media. Family keeps things within. Chipper gets treated like God he can say or do know wrong in the eyes of some, but he is and was totally wrong with this.

Re: Chipper Jones on Jason Heyward
I thought it should have been something they kept in the clubhouse. I understand that Chipper and Jason talked before it all came out, and everythign is cool between them. Jason is said to understand what Chipper was doing/saying. I think it is OK to say things publicly as the leader of your team, but you should say things in general - not calling someone out specifically. Use terms like "the team" or "sometimes when we are young...". But specifying someone can only lead to a more divided clubhouse rather than a unified one.
Most great athletes suffer from knowing when it is time to hang 'em up. I honestly believe Chipper felt he would come back from the knee injury and be healthy all year. And a fully healthy Chipper is an asset. Unfortunately, Father Time is showing Chipper that when you get older, your body is going to let you down at times, especially when you are an athlete. I think he really has to understand that now. I also think his coming back this season may have had a lot to do with Cox retiring and Chipper being there to help with the transition to Fredi. I think the FO people really wanted him to be there this season. Hopefully, he finishes the year strong and is ready to retire at the end of the season. He may need Bobby Cox to have a heart to heart with him, but I think he will see the end of the road is just ahead.

Chipper walk from $13 million?
He has been known for using the media to talk about teammates. He use to talk about JD Drew all the time in the media during his short time here. Heyward is just loved by the fans, but I think Chipper was trying to stress his point, and whatever he says in the media is most likely being said to Heyward directly.

A lot less than Chipper is, that's why even though none of us know what Chipper may or may not have said to Jason man to man people are swearing that Chipper just isn't the type of guy that would say something to the media he had not said to the person. He just has this aura of can't be wrong with his fans, way more beloved than Jason ever will be even though he is somewhat of a hometown product. Jason=Josh Smith, the best thing he can do is get traded away from here for his mental health

Chipper Jones is an icon and a future hall of famer.
Jason on the other hand is possibly the future for Atlanta, but if he can accomplish what Chipper has, I believe he'll possibly be adored more, so we'll see what he does with his baseball career. Freddie Freeman possibly has a brighter future.
Speaking of hometown kids; look what happened to Jeff Francoeur after he started to question Bobby Cox. Jason seems to respect Bobby a great deal and players like Chipper.

Possibly and I wish Freddie the best, but I heard the Braves announcer's saying how they really did not think it was probable that Jason would have the effect he had on the team last year and even less likely that the Braves would have two rookies in back to back years have the positive effect they did on the team. So, expectations are off base a lot. Just because Freddie is going well now does not have anything to do with the future. Hopefully, he and Jason are Braves 10 years from now with multiple World Series titles.
