Mac, Chipper, Venters, Kimbrel and Jurrjens 2011 All Stars

http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blo ... irst-time/Chipper was voted as a reserve, making his 7th All Star game. Mac is a first yr starter for the All Star game, this is his 6th time being an All Star in his first 6 seasons in MLB. Venters and Jurrjens are making their first All Star appearance.
Congrats to our 4 Braves that made the All Star Team !!!

This could very well be Chipper's final All-Star appearance.

I don't understand why they pick up setup men? What happened to the days where the top few closers would be the relievers of the team? i understand Venters has been great but it's Kimbrel that gets the saves and truly deserves to be there!

Yeah, he is giving all his players the love.
A) 46 IP 12 ER 1 HR 18 BB 70 K 28 SV 5 BS 2.35 ERA 1.04 WHIP
B) 43 IP 15 ER 2 HR 22 BB 43 K 26 SV 4 BS 3.14 ERA 1.42 WHIP
Player B is the guy Bochy wants to close if there is a save situation for NL. (B = Wilson)
Player A has less BB's and
nearly 30 more K's, his ERA is nearly 1 run lower. (A = Kimbrel)
Their IP and BS are nearly identical.

Halladay can start, but JJ wins the CY.....Sounds fair to me. The two of them are completely different pitchers, Roy is more powerful, but he does have more complete games as well.
