1. Hunter Pence- Probably would have to give up the farm to get him but he makes sense because he is relatively young, playing on a team not going anywhere, and productive, plus his salary is similar to Nate McClouth's.

2. Reed Johnson- Yes he is 34 but the guy is hitting .326, he does not hit for much power but I think we could use another guy that hits for average. His $900,000 salary is relatively cheap.

3. Marlon Byrd- He is 33 but hitting .309, not much for power but another guy that hits for average. He makes $5.5 million I'm thinking due to Nate's youth over Marlon's this could be a even swap or maybe we could something extra from them.

4. Josh Willingham- He is 32 and he does not hit for average very much but he already has double digit HR's. .244 12HR would add a little punch. His salary is similar to Nate's.

5. Jeff Francouer- He is 27, .264 and 13 HR's. He only makes $2.5 Million. Don't know what we would have to give up.

6. Adam Jones- He is 25, .286 and 16 HR's. He makes $3.25 million. We would have the beast young outfield for years to come, but I don't know what it would cost us.

7. Nolan Reimold- He is 27 hitting .250 and 5 HR's. He is more of a utility player it looks like as he has only appeared in few games this year, though he did hit .279 and 15 Hr's in 2009. He only makes $414,000.

My thinking is to look at guys on teams that aren't going anywhere. Adam Jones and Pence are probably cornerstones of there teams and may not be available or would cost too much but if not they would be great pickups.

The list was compiled in no particular order.

What do you think?

Hunter Pence and Adam Jones are my favorites on your list. Adam Jones is going to set a career high in HR's probably within the next week or two. It all depends on how much of our farm you would be willing to give up to acquire one of them. Both are due contract extensions this off-season.

Add BJ Upton to that list. I had no idea they would trade him but the experts are saying he could be had and it would not take much. Plus he is no rental he is under contract through next season. The guy plays CF, has 15 HR's and 25 stolen bases. That's as many HR's as Freddie Freeman who everyone is in love with this year and more stolen bases than any Brave by a long shot. He plays a position that needs to be solidified. What would you give for Upton considering he is under contract through next season?

Schafer and Minor for Farnsworth and Upton?

I am no fan of Farnsworth but he can give you some innings out of the bullpen and is a veteran. I don't know if Upton's supposed attitude is blown out of proportion or not but I don't know if Schafer will ever be better than Upton. Upton can defend, steal a base and hit for a little power.
