Our lead for the wildcard is very very slim after some struggles as of late, so this is a thread that follows the Giants, D-backs and any other team threatening to dethrone us in the Wild Card now and later on in the season.

Good news is that they play each other today. So we cannot lose ground to the loser today. :-) There is a silver lining in every cloud.

Really happy for Kirk Gibson and the success he is having in Arizona. So many people thought he had no chance to do well, and I'm glad he is proving them wrong. You could tell when he played the game that he lived and breathed baseball. They say Star players dont make good managers or coaches. Glad to see he looks like an exception to the rule. He learned so much of the game from Sparky Anderson, who will always be one of my favorite Managers. Hopefully Kirk picked up a great deal of the knowledge Sparky tried to pass on to him.

Giants cool the Diamondbacks. So we are 2.5 games up on Arizona in the WC right now. Of course, Philly finished off Colorado, so we are still 8 back there.

I'm still worried about the D-Backs, that's a team that plays all 9 innings every game, why can't the Braves be like that.

Philly beat San Fran last night.

It can be looked at two different ways, but I like it, because at this point I believe it's going to take a miracle to win the division.

And san Fran beats Philly by a 3-1 also. Nice.

For the WC, we are now 3.5 ahead of Arizona and 4 ahead of St. Louis. Expect it will be those 2 and ATL fighting for the WC spot. Should be a very exciting Aug and Sept.

A little breating room again. We need more. Blasted Phillies keep winning, so we are not making up ground on them.

I needed Philly to win today anyways.

On the other side, but hey my bills are priority, and the Braves are playing for the WC.
