Absolutely yes! He has deserved it, 6x All Star, 1x All Star MVP, 5 Silver Sluggers. He is the face of this franchise when Chipper is gone, and possibly might be right now.

McCann deserves it for sure.

Looking back; I thought he was underpaid (6yrs, $26 million) to a certain extent when he signed his current contract.

11:$6.5M,
12:$8.5M,
13:$12M club option ($0.5M buyout)

He is already reaching some of his bonus money for the all-star appearances and silver slugger achievements. His bounces are $3 million.

If Mccan doesn't deserve a long term contract then I don't know who does, he's our most consistent and dangerous offensive threat and is the best catcher in the NL if not in the entire league, and I don't want to hear about Buster Posey who had one good year, most fans will say it's Posey but seriously he was a one time rookie sensation other than that he as an individual hasn't accomplished anything.

He deserves one. But have to remember what happened in Minn with Mauer. Gave him a huge contract and he is injured most of the year. Tough on a catcher's knees, and we have no DH to let him fall back on if he starts to falter healthwise. We should extend him, but we have to be cautious with the # of years.
