I'll play the devils advocate and take the other side, look how truly awful this team played last year. Really the only everyday player that played up to expectations was Freddie Freeman, the rest of the team was pretty awful and played well below what their career averages are. The Braves don't have to overachieve, if they just play up to career norms, they should be much better on offense. I like that the Braves have a chance to win every five days now that Derek Lowe is gone. If Uggla doesn't look completely awful for the first 3 months, plus 4 months of having Michael Bourn leading off, and our young pitchers all have another year of experience (or a few starts for Teheran and Delgado) under their belt.
The rationale is there. I would like to see this same team go out their next season and see if things improve offensively, I think they will and 95 wins is reasonable unless things go wrong like they did last year.
