There is a report on ajc.com that the Braves offered Jair and Martin for Adam Jones and I would have loved that trade. Adam is still young and a gold glove guy. Adam, Bourne, Heyward, Constanza in the outfield I will take that. Also, there is a report Jair was almost traded to the Reds over the weekend but for who I don't know. The Rockies are still in love with Prado but what would they have to offer I don't know.

Actually the rumor was/is Jurrjens, Prado and a prospect for Adam Jones. Braves get robbed in that deal.

Bowman posted a blog about the Orioles/Braves trade and said that is what the Orioles requested for Adam Jones, not what the Braves offered. I would still be surprised to see either moved.

Re: Braves Prado and Jair Trade Talks Heating Up?
Braves didn't offer Prado, Jurrjens for O's Jones
The Braves expressed interest in Adam Jones. But they did not offer both infielder Martin Prado and starter Jair Jurrjens in exchange for the Orioles outfielder.
A source with knowledge of recent discussions between the O's and Braves disputed a Baltimore Sun report that said Atlanta was rejected after offering Prado, Jurrjens and a pitching prospect for Jones.
When the Braves expressed interest in Jones earlier this month, they were informed he was unavailable. The O's later called and asked for Jurrjens, Prado and what the source described as "two other premium guys" for Jones. http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/news/arti ... l&c_id=atl

Jurrjens, Prado and prospect(s) for Jones is still too much. Whether there was an offer or not. Jurrjens and a prospect should be enough for Jones, no need to toss in Prado.

That would be a good deal. Jair isn't going to re-sign here and Prado is a overrated utility guy who will leave a lot to be desired if he is forced to play a everyday role year end year out.

Re: Braves Prado and Jair Trade Talks Heating Up?
I've been thinking it over the last couple hours and I would probably pull the trigger on a trade that involved Jurrjens and Prado for Adam Jones. Sadly, Jurrjens has no future with us anyway, and after this off-season I doubt Prado would want to come back.
All I expect management to acquire is hit or miss prospects for them so Adam Jones is probably the closest sure thing.

Re: Braves Prado and Jair Trade Talks Heating Up?
Prado's WAR has been better than Adam Jones' every year but last. As much as I like Adam Jones, I have my doubts that he is much of an upgrade, especially considering the positional versatility that Prado has. I think last year was kind of a fluke for Martin Prado.
Jerry Crasnick reported that the Orioles wanted at least 2 arms from Beach, Minor, Teheran, Vizcaino, Delgado included in the deal. That's just nuts.

Now that is insane if true.

I agree 100% Adam Jones is a great young player and I might just give Prado and JJ for him but I wouldn't think of giving away even one of our steller arms from the farm let alone 2; if we were going to labor away so many pieces we might as well go after the league's best shortstop (in my opinion) Troy Tulowitski. But I'm not worried about Wren giving away that much, we all know how stingy he is when it comes to his young pitchers. And I mean stingy in a good way.

JJ and Prado for Adam Jones is something to consider. If they want one of our young arms also, that would kill the deal.

Re: Braves Prado and Jair Trade Talks Heating Up?
I think the value of JJ and Prado is decreasing by the week. Every team knows we're trying to move them, so they won't offer what some think the two are worth, and ultimately I think any return we get is going to upset the majority of Atlanta fans. I have a few co-workers that are very angry about Prado being shopped.
Adam Jones for the two of them is it for me. The O's need to possibly include a low tier prospect, but we shouldn't have to include anything else, and if we do screw them.
This situation needs to be addressed and over with before the season starts. The sooner the better!

I like your thinking. Minor, Prado, Jair,Vizcaino for Tulo yesterday but not Adam Jones though I do like him. You can get Prado and Minor or Prado and Jair for Adam Jones if I were running things.

Re: Braves Prado and Jair Trade Talks Heating Up?
The Orioles asked for – according to differing reports – either Jair Jurrjens, Martin Prado AND a prospect, or any two of the Braves’ top young pitchers or prospects (Brandon Beachy, Mike Minor, Julio Teheran, Arodys Vizcaino, Randall Delgado).
“We continue to have some conversations,” said Wren, declining to discuss specifics about any possible targets or anything concerning trade rumors. “We’d have liked to have gotten something done in November in some areas, but just weren’t the matches. …
“We’re continuing to work different options. This was not a good free-agent year, not a lot of players that impacted teams, especially in the areas we would like to get better in.” http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-blo ... raves_blog
