The state trooper who hit an SUV driven by Jeff Porter, was fired. Porter and his family were on their way to the Chick-fil-A Bowl. The trooper was on his way to assisting another officer, had lights and sirens on, but never yielded to the red light, slamming into the passenger side of Porter's SUV. Jeff's wife was sitting in the passenger seat, and died at the hospital.
