Nice. Waters and Pache are both doing well as 20 year old OFers in AA. That Mississippi team has 3 CFers - with those 2 and veteran Connor Lien, and they alternate all 3 of them in CF - with Pache getting more time there than the others. It'll be real interesting to see which one of them makes it to the majors first - and when. It might end up being a friendly rivaly/competition between them. I gotta give Waters the edge because Pache's value is mostly in his ability to play CF, and Atlanta's OF does not need a CFer.

One run per inning - - For the second game in a row, Braves pitching gives up 9 runs. Ugh.

AJCAustin Riley hits 2 more homers, will play outfield some in Triple-A
Braves third base prospect Austin Riley is on a tear, homering nine times in his past 46 at-bats in Triple-A. Defensively, he’s about to start seeing more time in the outfield. “He’s going to do that a couple times a week,” Snitker said. “He’ll be able to do it. There won’t be any problem. He’s a baseball player, an athlete. It’ll be good for him.”
Riley, who’s more athletic than given credit for, is a plus defender at third. But manning the outfield will only increase his value, and perhaps be his pathway to the majors. While the Braves could theoretically work Riley into the outfield, it wouldn’t be regularly. It’s better for his development to play in Triple-A every day.
But in the event of an injury to a regular, the more spots Riley can play -- the better. He’s expected to contribute at some point this season, even if it’s in September.

Riley HR'd again, 11 HR in 55 ABs at Gwinnett.

And the "experts" were questioning his power when he wasn't hitting a lot of homers in AAA last year - meanwhile he was maybe the youngest players in the league. Now.. it'd be insane to question his power. Braves gotta think about benching Enciarte and moving Acuna to center to let Riley start in LF. That's assuming he's ready defensively - Braves probably should have gotten Riley more reps earlier this season in LF.

Riley is up due to an Inciarte injury. The lineup just got a serious upgrade.

Sorry about Inciarte's "injury", but wow - this could be fun to watch - assuming Riley's really ready to play LF.

Freak talent. He could end up being the best - behind Soroka - of the Braves young pitchers. Only 3 earned runs allowed in his last 5 starts. Only question is consistent fastball command. You don't see 6'6 225 lb athletic lefties who throw like him.

Travis Demeritte is on fire! I’ve been focused on Waters and Pache, even the kid hitting .377 in A, but Travis is killin. .290 with 13 hrs and 44 rbis

He's kindofan odd prospect. He was always an infielder before this season (mostly 2B) but now an OFer - presumably to make him more versatile? His problem used to be that he'd literally try to hit a homer on every pitch, and that approach was never going to work in the majors. So, he's apparently adjusted, but he still strikes out too much to be considered a future starter. But I could see him being a useful utility player. Jackson, the catcher there, is also hitting well and also strikes out too much to be considered as a future starter.
