Simmons fractures a bone in his right hand...

It happened in the 4th inning in today's game, when he stretched a single into a dbl, sliding head first.

Every time I watched him slide head first, I knew an injury was going to occur at some point. Better now than in September, so at least he should be ready to go for the playoff push, but sliding head first is the dumbest thing you can do in baseball and yet he, Heyward and Bourn do it all the time. STOP!

Simmons has been praised for his play, but his teammates have praised him for his character, so it's sad to see him have this setback.

He has an alarmingly low K ratio for his career so he puts the ball in play, maybe he will get lucky and find some holes in his time with us.

Simmons will have his cast taken off within the next week. He could return in 2-2.5 weeks.
