Kris Medlen: Coming in with a 10-1 record and a 1.57 ERA is arguably the hottest pitcher in Baseball, the Braves have won in Medlen's last 23 starts and Kris has been absolutely dominant down the stretch even having 41 straight scoreless innings pitched at one point.

Kyle Lohse: The ace of the Cardinals staff is sporting a very surprising and outstanding 16-3 record with a 2.86 ERA, he's had an ERA under 4 only once in his career before this season but has proven himself to be one of the best NL pitchers of the season with an ERA that's 5th in the NL.

The storyline: This is the first season where there are 2 wildcard teams in the playoffs, if not for this rule the Braves would be in the NLDS right now as we ran away with the #1 wildcard spot this season.

The Revenge Factor: As many of us remember 1 season ago the Braves had a 9 game lead over the Cardinals in the Wildcard, a 9-18 September and an awful collapse ensued and we missed the playoffs as a result, the Cardinals got hot at the right time and took the playoff spot on the final day of the season; this is our chance at a bit of revenge.

3rd Base: Braves legend Chipper Jones might be playing the last game of his career on Friday (hopefully not) and he squares off against World series hero David Freese at the hot corner.

Lohse vs Medlen is a great matchcup to see. Two very good pitchers going at it in a one and done game. And a loss means it is over for Chipper. So much excitement today. Will be on the edge of my seat.

Nemesis, you are dead right. We need runs early in my opinion. If we get Medlen some run support early, will make him more comfortable and confident the rest of the game. If it is a 0-0 game after 6 innings, it will give me some concern.

Ross with a HUGE homerun, he had called for time on a 2 strike pitch right before the HR but the ump granted time after the pitch was thrown and after Ross had swung and missed (he should've gotten struck out), so he got a pitch on the house and went deep; it's controversial and will be all over ESPN and Baseball Tonight if we win but I'll take runs any way we can get them, Medlen is pitching with a 2-0 lead now

Cards have runners at corners with no outs, after Chipper made a throwing error on what should have been a routine dbl play.

UGH, Chipper's error costs us big time, RBI double from Allen Craig, men on 2nd and 3rd with no outs

Chipper cost us big time with that error, Cards tie it up at 2-2, Craig RBI dbl, Molina sac ground out to 1b.

Very unclutch by Chipper, his awful error ends up costing us 3 runs, really unfair of him to put Medlen in that situation

Simmons fu**ed up at the plate, drops a bunt down with runners at corners with 1 out and pitcher due up next, he his called out for interference, ran up the 1b line in fair territory on the grass, Freese throw hit Simmons helmet.


No clue why he was bunting, especially with the pitcher up next.

Offense needs to step it up, Prado, Heyward and Chipper, all 0-2 in this game.

Braves 1-4 hitters are a combined 1-11. Not getting it done. Man, that Chipper error really hurts.
