Largest FA contract given in Braves franchise history, this shows that we're committed to winning and that we won't replace Bourn with a cheap option. Upton gives us everything Bourn gave with more power, he had 28 homeruns last year. Go Wren

Excited this got done. A little shocked the Braves spent this kind of money, but Upton was their guy and they landed him. Hopefully this pays off, like all CFs on the free agent board this year there's a lot of upside and some downside. Would rather have Upton than Bourn since Upton provides another big right handed stick. Hoping for Denard Span or Shane Victorino for LF/Lead-off. This roster would be real dangerous 1-8 at that point.

David O'Brien at the AJC says today the deal is 5 years for $75.25 mil. Think we are going to be very happy with that as I think Bourn is going to cost a good bit more. Upton will be far greater value IMO.

This signing makes me feel much better about the upcoming season. I'm just thankful we took action and Wren played his cards right. Go Braves!!
