Garcia will be assigned to Gwinnett, before coming to ATL. He will provide depth for pen/rotation. I believe the Braves made this move, because Brandon Beachy will be checked out by Dr. James Andrews for soreness in his elbow.

When they said Beachy was throwing his fastball in the low to mid 80's, that cannot be good. Not really expecting good news on him, but I hope I am wrong. Would Garcia take Beachy's place the rest of the season if need be, or would we call up someone when we expand the rosters in Sept and give him a shot?

I'm not sure what Fredi would do, but I think he'll stay with Minor, Medlen, Teheran, Maholm and Wood in the rotation for now.

Freddy was called up today. May be a spot starter.
