The Braves open the season Monday at home, vs the Nats. Scherzer vs Teheran

So glad opening Day is upon us...

looking forward to seeing how the team does. especially some of the top prospects.

1-1 in the 2nd. Harper solo HR, Freeman solo HR.

Daniel Murphy puts the Nats back in the lead, with a solo HR. 2 HRs allowed by Teheran in 4 innings. 2-1 Nats

Garcia ties it with a solo HR! 2-2 in the 5th.

2-2 in the 8th, Braves have 2 on with 1 out, Francouer PH walk, Inciarte single

Aybar pops out to 2b, Freeman HBP. Bases loaded with 2 outs for Garcia. 2-2

Garcia draws a bases loaded 4 pitch walk!!!!! 3-2 Braves in the 8th.

Markakis strikes out to end the inning. Grilli time!

Grilli has the bases loaded with no outs.

PH S Drew strikes out, bases loaded with 1 out. We need a double play real bad.

Taylor with a sac RBI fly out to LCF, tie game 3-3. Fredi maybe should have stuck with Vizcaino.

Rendon flies out to CF. PH K Johnson, Pierzynski and Beckham due up in the 9th.

Beckham strikes out on 3 pitches. To the 10th we go.

4-3 Nats in the 10th. Fredi costs us a win yet again with his stupid management of the bullpen. Should have let Viz pitch another inning, he had a stress free 8th inning and throws harder than Grilli. Bad starts to the season from Grilli and EOF.

Nats win 4-3, F/10

I've blamed Fredi for a lot of bullpen mismanagement in the past, and rightfully so, but I can't blame him for putting in Grilli. He's our closer, and he had a great year last year before injury, he's the guy we go to in the 9th.

Grilli actually got out of that bases loaded jam in the 9th. Got a strikeout and shallow flyout, where Inciarte made a very good throw on time to get Werth out at the plate, but Pierzynski couldn't hold on. If there's anyone to blame, it's him.
