First baseman Freddie Freeman is finding SunTrust to be a hitter-friendly park, and the Braves are surging since moving to the suburbs.

Freddie Freeman was the second-best hitter in the second half last year behind only Joey Votto, and he's picked right up, going 4-for-4 with two HRs and two doubles in a 5-4 win over the Padres to raise his season line to .400 with an .867 slugging percentage. So much for needing Matt Kemp as "protection."

The Atlanta Braves' first walk-off hit in each of their 3 ballparks: Hank Aaron (Atlanta Stadium), Andrew Jones (Turner Field) and Dansby Swanson (SunTrust Park).

Freddie Freeman making himself at home in new digs

According to ESPN Stats & Information research, going back to June 15 of last season, Freeman's 29 homers are the most of anyone in the senior circuit. With a two-homer outburst in Monday's 5-4 walk-off win over San Diego, Freeman has now homered five times in 12 games, after needing 30 games to get there a season ago.

"I feel good," Freeman said. "I've felt good pretty much since spring training. Hopefully I can keep this going."

And these very friendly confines promise to be particularly friendly for Freeman. He added a pair of doubles to his pair of homers during his 4-for-4 performance, giving him a career-best 12 total bases.

"He's going to like this park," Snitker said. "He's just been swinging the bat so good since day one. He's an elite hitter."

"It's a great place to play," Freeman said. "On a Monday night, fans came out and supported us, and we played good the whole game."

Nats win the pitching duel 3-1. Not a terrible outing from Folty, gave us 7 IP, our offense got shutdown by one of the best pitchers in baseball. On to the next one!

Feel bad for Folty. 7 innings of 2 run ball should always be enough to win a game, or at the very least to not have to take a loss, but just unlucky that he was going up against Max Scherzer.

Braves hit a leadoff HR in the top of the 9th in Philly to cut the deficit to 4-3 and the umpire calls for the tarp. That rain delay is going to kill our momentum, I just know it. :(

Braves had two on with two out after the delay and Tyler Flowers struckout to end the game. Philadelphia wins 4-3.

Freddie Freeman is looking like this generation's Dale Murphy: MVP caliber, but doomed to be held back by the terrible team around him.

Our bullpen is terrible. Krol is crap. EOF is crap. Viz is crap. We need to see if any of our guys(not the potential starters) in AAA and AA are ready to come up and help.

We need to see if any of Weigel, Sims, Minter, Morris could contribute in our pen.

Braves trade David Hernandez to Angels for PTBNL or cash. Could have used him in the pen! Krol, EOF and Viz suck :nonono:

Last night's Braves vs Mets game was postponed due to rain.

The Braves promote OF Lane Adams and DFA Chase d'Arnaud. Adams signed with the Braves as a free agent in December. He was hitting .333 with four home runs and 16 RBIs in 13 games for Gwinnett.

Great game last night.
Huge win!

Matt Harvey takes the mound in the early game today for the Mets as he replaces Syndergaard. Syndergaard is dealing with biceps tendinitis and has been scratched from his Thursday start against the Braves.

Phillips is out of the lineup for us due a groin strain.

Good baseball so far Atlanta fans.
Braves are up early 3-2 and the bats are hitting. Even Freddies broken bat drove in a run.

Dickey and the Braves beat the Mets 7-5. Dickey got big help from his battery mate, Suzuki hit his first HR of 2017, a 3 run shot.

That was a gutsy win in Milwaukee. Freeman with a two-run blast in the top of the 9th. I almost turned the tv off when we fell behind 8-4. Six runs from the 7th inning on is pretty sick. Im glad SunTrust doesn't play like Miller Park though. I'm not a big fan of Teheran pinch running but at least he didn't get hurt. Swanson is still MIA, it could be pretty amazing if / when we get him and Kemp to join Freeman's hot hitting. I also saw on Twitter that Over the past 5 days, Braves Minor League starters have given up a TOTAL of 17 runs over 86 IP (16 games). That is a 1.78 ERA system-wide for SPs. That is just Filthy Stupid! If everyone stays healthy we will have a starting rotation that is the envy of all of a baseball around 2020.
