Yeah, this is disappointing. The kid is a good prospect with a high ceiling, but the last thing I'd be looking for is a pitching prospect that's several years away. The Braves have a bunch of them. And Ynoa is not having a good year - though he showed a lot of promise last year. I don't get it. I would have preferred to keep Garcia rather than trade him for so little. The Twins have several pitching prospects that I would have preferred, but what do I know.

Ok, so if the 4.7 mil lets them afford Gray, and the Braves don't give up too much in prospects for Gray, then this could work out well. But, with the possibility that the Nats are getting involved (and running up Gray's price), I'm not at all optimistic.

If we trade Albies for Gray, I will lose all faith in our front office!

I would too, however I don't think they trade Albies for Gray. You trade him for Archer, Sale, those level pitchers.

Garcia getting traded surprises me.
Granted, I have followed the team less this season than prior years, but he appeared to be doing good.

The Twins flipped Garcia to the Yankees last night.

Coppy gets robbed by being impatient. At this pace we may not be competitive until 2019 or 2020. :(

To be fair, both the Braves and Yankees received a prospect ranked at #22 for Garcia. Coppy didn't get robbed, but he should have been more patient and could have got a better return.

I think the Twins easily won that. Zack Littell is dominating AA at 21, has a low to mid 90's fastball and a great curve - just needs to slow down his changeup. He's a rising prospect, while the guy the Braves got is a declining prospect. The other guy Minny got is doing real well in AAA and should be at least a good lefty bullpen specialist. Braves look really bad in this, imo. It comes down to whether or not they did their due diligence - I gotta question if they did.

I agree that it seems like Coppy was just impatient in this situation. That's pretty unacceptable near the trade deadline while this team is where it is in the rebuilding process but I'll give him a pass because I like what he's done these past few years big picture wise and because this seems like a one time thing. He has to learn from this mistake though.
