1. Albies bunt in Colorado where he was obviously safe.

2. The Mets LF trapping the ball from every view possible but they let the call as a catch stand.

3. Rizzo being out at second and it not even being close Monday afternoon.

4. Prado swiping at Ender trying to steal third base at Miami Sunday and the umps buddy in NY changing the call to out.

5. Camargo being safe by a mile last night! If they could tell that "Prado grazed Ender's uniform" then this call was a no brainer!

6. Ender being safe stealing home at Washington

7. There was a pickoff play in Washington that was ruled against us that Stevie Wonder could of seen that the Nats baserunner was out, but called safe.

They need to either get replay right or get rid of it, the umpires in the call center(s) in NY and SF are simply looking out for their buddies by not changing blatantly obvious missed calls because of the umpire grading system.

Even Cubs fans were saying #5 was obvious. And that was a 1 run game. Not acceptable. Mistakes like that when gambling is legal everywhere will get more scrutiny.

Tomorrow we host Miami. I hope Sean Newcomb wins his 4th straight outing.

Kinda lucky this one got rained out tonight imo. Fried vs. Lester isn't exactly an ideal pitching matchup for us. This also means that Soroka will only miss one scheduled start instead of two.

No score in the 4th. Braves vs Marlins. Braves had runners at 2b and 3b with no outs, then bases loaded with 1 out and couldn't score. Bautista K and Camargo fly out.

Braves win 8-1, behind another great Newcomb start.

After Teheran put the Braves in a 6-0 hole, the Braves come back including scoring 6 runs in the 9th to beat the Marlins 10-8 and win the series. Swanson with the 2 out walk off 2 RBI single to end the 9th.

6-run rally in the bottom of the 9th on the 8-year anniversary of the Brooks Conrad rally against the Reds which was also 6 runs in the bottom of the 9th. This was the most exciting regular season win since that one.

2018 Braves Games Thread....

Post#212 » by TheKingofSting » Mon May 21, 2018 2:41 am

I still can't believe it. No one on our team gives up on an AB ever no matter the score. It's almost like we made up for the Cubs debacle in the bad weather. The Baseball God's giveth and the Baseball God's taketh away! What a huge boost heading into a big series and a tough two week stretch of games! I'm starting to think we need to extend Markakis' contract.

:D

WOW! Just wow! What else can we say ?? Going into our series in Philly, we have 1 1/2 game lead and
in first place! Winning only one of three here, on the road, where the Braves play their best ball, means
we leave there in 1st place.

Braves released their "other" third baseman. We wish him well and hope someone else finds room for him.
Seems that, with Swanson back at SS, our third baseman is now back in his slot and is looking great there.

Someone called up a 19 year old, therefore he becomes the youngest player in e majors. Braves still have
the next three youngest.

That saying, "He just can't win at home," rose up again Sunday. But, he's great on the road. Part of pitching
is mental. He proves this too many times.

Heard this on the broadcast: Some manager started their closed. He pitched the 1st inning instead of the
9th. I've thought of this before and I believe to be a great idea. Your thoughts??

Need to take at least one of these two against the Phils to get out of there still in first place

The 19 year old somebody called up was Juan Soto of the Nats. He wouldn't have been brought up if 20 year old Victor Robles hadn't got injured (as well as some other Wash OFers - hell, they're using Matt Adams in the OF). At this point, the Braves and Nats might be the 2 best organizations in baseball as far as being set up for the next 5 to 10 years. And Philadelphia and NYM are well set up. Atlanta's in the best division in baseball, imo. I think I mentioned in the offseason, I'd be targetting Soto to trade for in the future. That kid looks like a future star and might be already virtually untouchable.

I don't think we need to trade for Soto. Don't see Nats trading him within NL East. I'd like to go after Pollack in FA.
