I dont think AA jumps, he waits things out. I believe after Harper and Machada sign the trade market will open up.

Rumors that there’s an outside possibility that the Braves could go into 2019 with Duvall as the 3rd OF. Meanwhile the Nats and Phils are reportedly looking toward making runs at Harper and Machado.

Liberty Media seems to really be tying AA’s hands together. Disgraceful.

I will be super pissed if Duval is an opening day starter in the OF. F Liberty Media! Sell the team, we want owners that care and want to win.

I can't imagine that'll happen - they'd lose the trust of the fan base.

It's very possible, pitchers and catchers report in like 35 days or something like that. ATL Boy is right, Liberty Media is handcuffing AA.

Duvall had and OPS+ of -5 with the Braves - granted in a small sample size. I didn't realize OPS+ could go negative. He had 81 with Cincy - which stinks for a corner OFer. Going into the season with him as a starter... plech... that would be unforgivable.

Buster Olney says Braves continue to talk with AJ Pollock. Seems like teams are spending less in free agency, so his cost shouldn't be outrageous. And he can fit pretty much anywhere in a lineup.

Just read that to on rotoworld.com

ESPN's Buster Olney reports that the Braves continue to be "in discussions" with free agent outfielder A.J. Pollock.
Atlanta has been tied to Pollock for over a month now and might finally be ready to make something happen. The 31-year-old center fielder was said to be seeking a five-year, $80 million deal at the outset of the offseason, but his price has probably dropped given what some other highly-regarded free agents have had to settle for. Pollock registered an .800 OPS with 21 home runs and 13 stolen bases over 113 games last season in Arizona.

Pollack would be a solid upgrade at RF and could possibly slide into the cleanup role next season. Just hope he and Donaldson could stay relatively healthy.

Now that they've signed Culberson, I guess they could use a combination of him and Comargo in LF or RF. But that's not something we really want to see.

Wow, that's a really good one to think about. Mejia's been considered the top catching prospect in baseball, and Renfro's a good young power hitter who cut down on his big SO problem last season. They both fill needs, while Gohara and Riley really don't. I hate giving up Riley, but I'd have to say Yes to that trade. Have to - with the shortage of catchers in MLB.

Acuna would prefer to stay at leadoff for Braves

Ronald Acuña Jr. told reporters at Chop Fest that his preference is to remain in the leadoff spot but that he is willing to do whatever the coaching staff thinks is best for the team.

“Obviously, I do enjoy batting leadoff, but it’s not my decision,” Acuna said through an interpreter. “It’s up to the coaches and manager to decide whatever is best for the team.”

The Braves are reportedly looking for a corner outfielder that could hit cleanup behind Freddie Freeman. https://www.talkingchop.com/2019/1/21/18190737/atlanta-braves-news-freddie-freeman-on-bryce-harper-dansby-swansons-health-ronald-acuna

Well, I guess it makes sense to take a look if Riley can play some RF. He seems to have the arm for it.

Nick Markakis is staying in Atlanta.

The Braves announced Tuesday they re-signed the 35-year-old outfielder to a one-year, $4 million deal with a 2020 option for $6 million that reportedly can be bought out for $2 million.
