Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640 South Florida reports that Marcell Ozuna suffered a small facial laceration after his wife allegedly hit him with a soap dish.

Slater says that Ozuna drove to a Miami-area police station to report the incident. Ozuna's wife, Genesis, was arrested and charged with domestic battery following a two-week investigation. She pleaded not guilty and was given a stay-away order. It doesn't sound like an injury that would prevent Ozuna from preparing for a possible 2020 season.

So the NL is using a DH. Theoretically, that should help the Braves - with guys like Duvall and Ozuna.

This thing about starting extra innings with a runner on 2nd... what? What an awful idea.

The 60 games changes things from a marathon to almost a sprint. Braves need to get off to a good start.

Really hoping Cole Hammels and Felix Hernandez have a positive impact.

I have been thinking about Cole Hammels and Felix Hernandez a good amount. I want them to be successful and still have personal success. Felix must have something left in the tank.

Looks like Pache is making the team - considering we are somewhat short on OFers - and our DH's are probably going to come mostly from the OFers. And if they have injuries or illnesses, they can put Waters on the roster.

There probably won't be any minor league play this season, so it might be best to put Waters on the MLB roster instead of wasting his season. And with the new rule about starting the 10th inning with a runner on second, he'd be a nice fit for that role - with his speed off the bench. Even though it's a stupid rule, we might as well take advantage of it.

Puig is available - probably cheaply. https://www.rotowire.com/baseball/player.php?id=12588&refer=SportsRef Seems to me he'd make a lot more sense for the Braves than the Orioles.

I honestly said that before hearing anything about him possibly going to the Braves.

Puig didn't pass his Covid test, which was part of physical. The news came this morning that he tested positive. He is still a FA.

I guess that pits him against Yonder Alonso - since they both bat lefty and are very limited defensively. I hope Adams gets the nod. He had a terrible year last year, but I think part of that was because of nagging injuries. I doubt Alonso has anything left, but he has a major league contract.

Folty just gave up three straight homers to Miami.

Uggg, signing Cole and Felix didn't turn out well. Just hope that Cole can help the Braves in the playoffs - maybe out of the bullpen.

Solid article on Freddie's contract situation. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2020/10/freddie-freeman-on-potential-extension.html With 1 more year left on his contract, he'll be 32 next season. I think a 5 year $130 mil extension is reasonable for both sides. Some of the comments say the Braves should give him a 10 year extension - that would be very foolish, imo. A 5 year deal will last him through age 37, and I doubt other teams would top a 5/130 offer at his age. (Sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this.) The timing of a 5 year deal would work well especially because it'd be over just before we'd have to ante up for extensions for Acuna and Albies.
