Featuring

Image
Mark Redman
Coming off his strongest start of the season, Redman will be looking to avenge what was his worst start of the year. After allowing the Marlins seven earned runs in 2 2/3 innings on April 13, the 32-year-old left-hander came back to limit the Cubs to three runs in 7 1/3 innings on Thursday. Using a lower arm slot and showing more aggressiveness on the inner part of the plate, he consistently located his fastball and cutter.

vs.

Image
Rick Vanden Hurk
The rookie had a rough outing in his previous start, giving up eight runs in four innings in a loss to the Mets. Despite the runs allowed, Vanden Hurk struck out six. A native of the Netherlands, the right-hander has a sweeping breaking ball to go along with a 93-mph fastball. He got into trouble against New York when he fell behind in counts, leading to him throwing 92 pitches.

And who is going to want to trade for Redman? We MIGHT be able to get one of those Mermaids for him. Surely they have enough to spare one.

Just cut him please, thank god for our bullpen keeping us in the game. Wow this guy is horrible. Bobby needs to either split Davies and Redman up or JS needs to make a move now. If Davies and Redman continue to pitch back to back we will be losing every other series or atleast have a shot at winning it.

Redman is making $750,000 thats chump change please cut this guy now. There has to be someone available better than this guy.

I'm sure there's a better option than Redman in the Braves system and I haven't even started scouting the stats yet!

Nothing really in the minors of our system that can impact in the rotation. Have to make a move maybe not immdiately but sooner than later.

Though he hasn't really pitched for the best teams over his career, he nonetheless has a 64-79 lifetime record and a high 4.79 ERA.

Those aren't the kinds of numbers you want from one of your starters when you're competing with the Mets for the division. He hasn't done much so far this season to prove that he's all of a sudden going to become a better pitcher.

6.0 IP, 0 runs, 2 hits, 1 walk, and 7 strikeouts. What a great outting by our pen. Redman is trash.

I hope Cormier takes over Redmans spot when he comes back.

As sad as it is, I'd rather have Davies pitching than Redman.

Thats got to be a given for Cormier.

Whats not given is that Cormier takes Redman's spot in the rotation.

He'll more than likely take Davies spot, and that I don't agree with.

Thats what I meant.

If that is the case, Bobby won't go to long with that if Redman doesn't turn it around. Besides the only reason I see why he would do that is to have Davies come out the pen in relief for Redman's garbage behind. He'd have more faith in Davies and long relief situations than Redman.

How bout when we get Tanyon Sturtze back from the shoulder injury. He's due back end of May, beginning of June.

Sturtze is one of the biggest wastes of money I've ever seen JS make. $1.1 M for a pitcher who at his best was a good mopup reliever? Here's what I had to say about him when I predicted how particular Braves players would perform. If you think I'm being harsh, look at his numbers from last year and if you can stomach them, the rest of his career numbers!

Tanyon Sturtze: Don
