If we can't convert him to a legit power hitting 1B than I would trade him for a proven #2 pitcher at the least, a power hitting LF or 1B. McCann looks promising for the future and can't see him being replaced back their. Not knocking Salty's potential but rather than lose him three years after he comes up trade him while his value is high.

Well McCann isn't going anywhere, based on his new contract.

We can do some of the following:

-Convert McCann to a 1b, let Salty come up and catch
-Convert Salty to a 1b, trade Thorman
-Convert Salty to a 1b, Convert Thorman to LF
-Trade Salty for a SP or LF

Your pick of Millidge or Carlos Gomez. Would you do it?

I'd take either but doubt the Braves make a move like that within the division. You rarely see top prospects being traded within the division, especially when they know the potential they have.

My prediction is that Salty gets traded for a CF to replace Andruw in CF and might I add that there's going to be a lot of ticked off fans if this happens.

No.

I want him on the team, so I'd rather covert him or McCann.

If his value is so high as a catcher why not take advantage, trade him to Detroit for one of their studs in the rotation.

They wouldn't give up Robertson or Verlander for him.

As long JS doesn't give the kid away for practivally nothing I be okay with anymove he makes. We need young pitching Smoltz won't be here forever. If Davies ever turns the corner along with James that would be a nice 1-2 for years to come. Another stud and we'll be set.

WHAT WE'RE HEARING

- That the Tigers, who hold a $13 million contract option on Ivan Rodriguez for 2008, have been looking around for catching prospects in case they need or decide to replace him. They have their eye on Atlanta's Jarrod Saltalamacchia, who's extremely well regarded but blocked by the presence of stud catcher Brian McCann on the big-league club.

I read a similar article on this thats why I mentioned Detroit a few days back actually on the 1st page of this thread. Verlander or even Robertson I would take.

I wouldn't take Nate for him, and there is zero chance they would hand over Verlander.

Their's no way we're getting a #1 from anyone a #2 would even be pushing it but could happen.
