Braves place closer Bob Wickman on DL

Post#1 » by HMFFL » Tue May 1, 2007 4:07 am

The Atlanta Braves placed the veteran closer on the 15-day disabled list with an upper back strain on Monday, a day after he blew his second straight save chance.

Well that explains why he can't find the strike zone, sucks for my fantasy team.

I drafted Wickman and BJ Ryan.

Figured this was coming... Funny he's on my Fantasy team as well.

Good thing about this season is that Sori or Gonzo can close and hold it down til he comes back. Gonzalez was nasty last night in the ninth.

Wick,
Stay on the DL as long as you need, we need you healthy. In the meantime, I hope Gonzo and Soriano just straight dominate.

I'm kind of mad that he was pitching injured with two extremely capable arms in the bullpen. That cost us at least one game for sure, possibly two.

Well the game against Florida was figured to just be a situation that was difficult to escape, then Saturday was a blown save. We could have speculated something but couldn't really tell. I can't blame Cox or the coaches for that. I give them credit actually for acting on it quickly. If you actually look into it the decision came in a span of 3-4 days.

Well the way our bats are swinging we maybe able to stay afloat without him, but he really needs to come back soon, I just cannot go through another no post-season offseason.

Return to Atlanta Braves
