No way.... What do the Jays have to offer? If anything they should be scouting the A's they have arms that interest us.

Maybe they were looking at Overbay. He can hit and could come in and start at 1b for us and be better than our current platoon.

You'd better have $15 million a year to donate to cover Halliday's contract because the Braves don't.

At this point I'd much rather let Thorman start everyday.

I think it depends on what Overbay would cost us. If they are going to be sellers, maybe we could get someone from them. Thorman is solid but his average isn't that high. He did hit 2 homers yesterday, but overall a .250 average isn't all that great. I would like to see him prove to Bobby that he can play against lefties, just like Willie should.
And it isn't a stretch to see scouts at other people's games. I remember going to a Braves game a couple of years ago and they had a whole section for scouts behind home plate.

Thorman is clearly better than Wilson, and I'm not ready to bench or move him for the more expensive Overbay. When given chances, Thorman has been pretty impressive.
He just needs to play everyday.
We're not getting Vernon Well or Halladay.
Burnett might be a possibility however.

I still think Thorman should have some time.

Burnett=big contract. If the Braves are in a position where they can't keep Andruw, then they're not going to be in any position to go on a spending spree.

I just heard about that - pretty f*ed up. But if by some miracle you guys get Halladay, you're going to be tough. It almost wouldn't be fair.
