Had to make room for Pena. He hasn't been great, but surprised we gave him his out right release. Thoughts?

Thank God.

Now do we let Salty ride the pine and pinch hit or send him back down.?
I know he'll see some time @ first, but Thorman isn't going to be replaced.

Salty stays here and develops into a stud. Next one to go will probably be Woodward.

Woodward is going nowhere seeing BC is giving him all the spot starts. The next one to go is Pete Orr, who suprisingly hasn't been axed yet.

I'm one of the few that would like to see Salty sent back down. I would much prefer us to allow him to play everyday instead of just keeping him around to pitch hit. He's had his taste and it's obvious that he's a stud, but I would like for him to continue to develop in the minors.

I'd like to send salty down for about a month during which time he can play 1B everyday and get ready to stay for good. During this time Thorman can also practice in LF some and get ready to move there. That said, this isn't going to happen so I guess I'll hope that Salty gets playing time beyond every 5th day behind McCann.

Well Pena got sent back down, so its looks like Salty is now the full time backup.

I really don't like that.

I'm all for moving Thorman to left and Salty to first.

Willie Harris would be deadly as a pinch hitter/runner.

Couldnt agree with you more. While first is pretty easy to adjust to, i want to see his he has the instincts.

How bout moving McCann to 1B and making Salty the everyday catcher. I think Salty's gun is better than Mac. Either way both of them in the lineup will be deadly for years to come.
