First pitcher in ML history with 200 wins and 150 saves. No better way to get #200 than at home, against Glavine and the Mets. And did he pitch great tonight. Back-to-back 7 inning shutouts (3rd this month including the Dodgers) against the Red Sox and the Mets, two of the three best offenses in the league. Can't believe this guy just turned 40.

Congrats Smoltzy!
couldn't have came during a better game, vs the Mets and Glavine at home.
Hall of Fame or Bust!

Considering he'll likely rack up 30-40 more wins (I think that's a safe bet barring injury) and move up more ranks on the strikeout list, there should be no way he doesn't make the Hall of Fame.

Here's a small recap:
ATLANTA (AP) -- John Smoltz became baseball's first pitcher with 200 wins and 150 saves, achieving the feat with a victory over one of his best friends.
Smoltz beat Tom Glavine with seven shutout innings and Matt Diaz homered to lead the Atlanta Braves to a 2-1 win over the New York Mets on Thursday night.
Making his third start of the season against Glavine, his Atlanta teammate from 1988-2002, Smoltz (7-2) became the NL's first seven-game winner.
The 40-year-old Smoltz gave up seven hits without a walk and struck out five. In back-to-back wins over Boston and the Mets, Smoltz has thrown 14 scoreless innings while allowing 10 hits and one walk.
Smoltz, 4-1 in May, lowered his ERA from 2.85 to 2.58.

So not only did Smoltz do it at home against both Glavine and our rivals, but he currently leads the NL in wins! Tonight was special. I'm so glad this game happened to be televised by TBS.

I have to agree with lp, this milestone just convinced the few that didn't feel he was in just yet. If he continues to throw like this maybe everyone will shut up about the rocket and pay attention to Smoltzy the other 40 yr old in the league that ripping right now.

It's pretty safe to say he's going to be a HOF'er so I hope it's not wishful thinking on my part.
