Glad to hear it's not too serious so hopefully he won't miss a start.

Cormier starting next Tuesday too.

Is it bad I've got soo much faith in him?

Lance Cormier? I thought he was a reliever. How did he do last year? Is he a contact groundball or power type pitcher? I seem to remember a lot of walks.

Sigh of relief for Smoltzy.

Cormier would definitely help depending on how he comes back.

I don't know about having "sooo much" faith in him, but I believe he'll be world's better than Redman, Lerew and Carlyle. At least giving the Braves a chance to win.

I'm really confused by the status Cormier is being given by Braves fans. For most of last year it was common knowledge that he was terrible and needed to rot in AAA. A few good starts in September and spring training and now he's going to be the solution to the Braves need of a #3 starter? I'll be shocked if he's anything better than another 5th starter.

Another 5th starter would pretty much be an upgrade @ this point.

Chuck James is our 3rd starter. I just want a starter in that 4th/5th spot that doesn't put us down 4 or 5 runs in the first couple of innings.

All we need is 6 innings of 2-3 runs the most and I think cormier should be in that range.

A 3.00 ERA is Smoltz/Hudson numbers! I'd be satisfied with 5-6 innings, 3 runs from Cormier provided Hiram (when Davies is called this he pitches well) and James improve their consistency.

Smoltz said his status for Sunday's home game against Chicago won't be determined before he throws in the bullpen on Saturday.

He is 40 and has logged alot of innings throughout his years here but hopefully he stays together and unbreakable throughout the year.

We really could get by with John pitching 6 innings per start over his next couple if our bullpen was actually prepared to handle it.

I wouldn't mind that if we still had Gonzalez to throw the 7th, Sori the 8th and Wick the 9th.

No Smoltz for Sunday.

Apparently he wasn't too happy about that either.
