Wickman/Soriano

Post#1 » by maseda17 » Wed Jun 13, 2007 3:20 pm

I understand Wick only signed a 1 year exentsion. Do you believe he will walk at the end of the year and Soriano will gain the closer's role? He has been absolutely outstanding and has ridiculous stuff. Amazing you guys acquired him for just Horacio Ramirez. I think it would be the right move to hand him the job for 08. Your thoughts?

Depends on Gonzo, but I'm comfortable with Soriano as the closer.

Wickman won't stay with us after this latest contract is over.

Good stuff. I've always been a fan of Soriano and he seems to be better following his TJ surgery.

Yeah once Gonzo is fine, our two top guys will be amazing. Throw in some young guys that could be established then, and we could have the best bullipen

We would have been top 5 this year if not for the Gonzo injury.

I wouldn't mind seeing Gonzo and Sori next season alongside a devloped Devine and McBride. Not a bad Bullpen imo

Gonzalez will be the closer if Wickman is gone. That's what he wanted to do and that's what he's best at. But Soriano has been absolutely amazing this year. I hope we can keep both for a long time.

I've actually also been relatively impressed with Moylan this year.
