Game 1 June 21st
ATL: RHP John Smoltz (8-3, 2.84 ERA)
Smoltz altered his delivery in his last start to protect his inflamed right shoulder, and the results were positive, as he struck out seven Indians in six innings. He has made one start against the team that drafted him, going 0-1 while notching two saves.

DET: LHP Kenny Rogers (2007 season debut)
Rogers makes his first big-league start of the year after two rehab starts in the Minors. He has one career appearance and no starts against Atlanta.

Player to watch
Neifi Perez, batting .181 this season in 60 at-bats, has nine hits and four RBIs in 26 career at-bats against Smoltz.

Game 2
Saturday: Braves (Kyle Davies, 3-6, 5.65) vs. Tigers (Justin Verlander, 8-2, 2.90), 3:55 p.m. ET

Game 3
Sunday: Braves (Chuck James, 6-6, 4.11) vs. Tigers (Andrew Miller, 2-1, 3.63), 8:05 p.m. ET

we should touch up Rogers and get the W for Smoltz. we need good outings from Davies and James, Verlander will be tough.

Go Braves!

I'm interested in watching Andrew Miller pitch on Sunday night. Should also be interesting to see how the Braves do against two lefties again this series.

Can't wait to see us against Verlander and the Tigers against Davies. That has the makings of a 15-0 game depending on which Davies shows up and which Braves lineup shows up.

The Sport South telecast just said that Chipper Jones is out with a groin injury for tonight's game. Wonder how serious it is?

If the groin injury isn't serious there will be another injury soon to follow. Most players who have these injury problems usually deal with the same area. Chipper's entire body is injury prone.

This is going to be a long series and now the Mets look like they are starting to break out of their slump.

At leat they have someone like Escobar to fill his role some. Should be interesting to see if he can build off his early successes.

Chipper isn't on the DL. He is in the line-up today and batting 4th.

Wow, the second time in consecutive games we have been screwed on a home plate tag.

We already terrible enough by ourselves, it's impossible to win when you're getting terrible calls from the umps.

We're in freefall mode.

Chipper and Smoltz aren't right, Andruw is the worst hitter in the NL and we can't string together victories.

It can only get better right?

At least Andruw Jones got a hit tonight. Tough way to end the week by being swept, but I think they might be able to start a turnaround against Washington on Monday.

Washington and Florida both seem to own us. I'm not too optimistic. We seem to enjoy making other teams look amazing.

Does everyone understand what that means?! :banghead:

I bet our pitching staff is afraid to take the mound.
