This would give the offense another power bat who is also a very good fielder. Howver, I wouldn't break the bank salary wise or prospect wise to bring him to Atlanta.

if we can resign him, yes....
if we can't, no....

i'd only consider the trade if we could resign teixeira and get an arm from the rangers

I'd do it only if we can sign him long term and get CJ Wilson or Gagne along with Texeira.

the rangers have said many times that theyre not trading gagne, but will trade benoit to get the "best available player", so if somehow we could get tex, benoit, and wilson in 1 trade, thatd be really awesome....
maybe andrus, jo jo, salty, lerew for them 3

He would definitely improve our team but I would hate to see Satly go for a one year rental. I heard JS about a month ago on a sports talk radio show talking how he wouldn't move Satly for a one year rental, unless he knew the player would be resigned, so it's going to be interesting to see what happens.

We can't include Jo-Jo in any trade talks. I am starting to like this kid stuff and he is only 22 and a lefty. Throw in another minor league arm. I am sure we can hype another can't miss minor league pitcher in the next few hours and get the Rangers to take him. If the Braves can re-sign Tex(ownership situation is now settle) then go for it. I am tired of seeing Julio start.

New talks, Jo Jo not going anywhere.
Maybe Salty Davies and Andy for Tex.
We're also looking into getting Gagne.

If this happens, I would also like to say that I've been calling for Mark from day 1.
HMFFL can attest to that.

"The Rangers certainly have interest in him and are asking for two additional prospects, with the necessity of one of them being a starting pitcher."
"While there has been talk of 18-year-old phenom Elvis Andrus being one of the pieces to the potential Teixeira deal, one Major League scout indicated Brent Lillibridge would be the more likely Braves Minor League shortstop to be shipped to Texas."
"As for starting pitchers, the Braves may be more apt to move Matt Harrision than Jo-Jo Reyes, who is slated to make his fourth Major League start Friday. Harrison, a 22-year-old southpaw who entered this season as the club's top pitching prospect, is 5-7 with a 3.39 ERA in 20 starts for Mississippi."
salty, lillibridge, harrison for tex sounds great to me....

It needs to be Salty, Andrus and Davies.

Salty for an arm... I've come to the conclusion that I'd like to keep Salty till we can trade him for a proven SP. we need starting pitching more than adding a bat.

andrus >>>>>>>>>>>> lillibridge
and tex isnt just a bat, he's an all-star 1B with great defense and a huge bat, which we dont have....

You think Andrus is that much better than lillibridge?

Our top priority should be a proven SP.

a SP is definitely a priority, but its not the top when teixeira is on the table....
is tex a FA after this season or after next upcoming season? with druw's & wickman's contracts up after this season and hampton's after the next, we should be able to resign tex....

but it's not a guaranted we can re-sign him long term. remember his agent is Boras, so how would you feel if someone out bid us (say the Yanks) and really overpay for him after the '08 season.
we basically trade our top prospect for a season and a half rental.
