Atlanta Braves(Chuck James)

vs.
Washington Nationals(Matt Chico)

Scouting Reports:
Nationals:
In the first seven innings on Sunday, Chico was in a pitchers' duel with San Francisco left-hander Barry Zito. They both pitched seven innings and gave up one run, but it was the Nationals who won the game, 2-1, in the bottom of the ninth inning on an RBI single by Ryan Zimmerman. The key to Chico's success on Sunday was his control; he was able to hit the corners and keep his pitches off the middle of the plate.
Braves:
James came off the disabled list on Saturday and felt no discomfort in his previously ailing left shoulder. But while allowing the Mets three earned runs in five innings, the 25 year-old southpaw was once again illed by the longball. He surrendered two homers to runs his team-high total to 27, all of which have come over the course of his past 125 1/3 innings. He is 1-1 with a 3.31 ERA in three starts against the Nationals this year.

**Also...I was wondering if we could get some people on here in the game threads during the games and we can discuss the game in there.**

Tonights Game: September 3rd

Turner Field | 1:05 PM ET

Jamie Moyer, LHP 12-10, 5.08
Phillies (72-64) @

Lance Cormier, RHP 1-4, 7.59
Braves 69-68

Scouting Report:

Phillies: The veteran left-hander rebounded from two of his worst starts of the season to beat the Mets his last time out, scattering eight hits and two runs in six innings to notch his fifth victory in his past seven decisions. Moyer has faced the Braves twice this season, beating them both times while allowing five earned runs over 13 1/3 innings.

Braves: Cormier made his second-longest start of the season his last time out, tossing seven innings of two-run ball to beat the Marlins. The right-hander allowed six hits and three walks to record his first victory since Sept. 20, 2006. Cormier earned a no-decision in his only other meeting with the Phillies this season, when he allowed four runs on seven hits in four innings on Aug. 11.

Yunel Escobar is going to be one heck of an athlete. He already is a very solid player, but once he gets some more expereince man that kid is the future of the Atlanta Braves. He can do everything, he can hit the ball well, and he can play steller defense. He has the god given talent that can't be taught.

Hopefully Cormier can keep the lead and not blow it. I only expect him to pitch another inning before Bobby removes him.

Tonights Game: September 4th

Turner Field | 7:35 PM ET

Kyle Lohse, RHP (7-12, 4.54)
Phillies (72-65) @

Buddy Carlyle, RHP (8-5, 5.02)
Braves (70-68)

Scouting Report:

Phillies: Lohse has mostly pitched well in six starts since the Phillies acquired him from Cincinnati, but he has just one win to show for it. The right-hander lasted just 3 2/3 innings in his last start, which was his third-shortest outing of the season. Lohse, who has a 4.35 ERA since joining the Phillies, hasn't faced the Braves this season. In two career meetings with them, he has allowed nine runs in nine innings.

Braves: Carlyle has not been pitching deep into games lately, as he's gone no longer than five innings in each of his past six starts. But he did go 3-2, despite a 6.75 ERA, in those starts. He is 0-2 with an 8.64 ERA in two starts against the Phillies this season.
