What would you like to see the Braves accomplish this offseason?

Pitching

A healthy Mike Gonzales, Dotel, a decent #3 starter, and another solid year from Smotz and Hudson to go along with Moylan and Soriano and I'd be genuinely concerned because this team can flat out rake. I doubt Renteria is coming back. He should be traded for a front-line starter...

Move Renteria for a proven starter.
Resign Andruw Jones (depending on the price) or sign Torii Hunter. Last month Tori rejected the Twins offer of 45 million over 3 years.
Resign Mark Teixeira or else I believe the trade was a complete failure.

I would love to see them acquire some great bull pen guys. The Braves need a guy that can come in when they are up by 1 run and trust that that guy will shut the opponets offense down, they just don't have that right now.

I could care less about this. Use Andruw's money for proven sp or a couple of sp's, then maybe go after a younger outfielder, like what we did with Willie.

pickup or trade for a #3 SP, sign Teix, get a new pitching coach and look forward to healthy Gonzalez and Dotel

we should spend the money from andruws and wickmans contracts freed up and however much the payroll will raise from the new ownership on resigning tex and a good SP, that will take most of it right there....
renteria will be the starting SS next year, as he should be....he's an all-star when he's on and healthy, as he proved this season....put escobar on the UTIL, soon enough he'll be the everyday 3B, chipper is gettin up there in age....
bullpen looks great for next season, no moves needed....
soriano
gonzalez
moylan
mahay (assuming he returns, if he doesnt then ring takes this spot)
dotel
villarreal
acosta and/or ascaino and/or devine (2 of the 3)
diaz will take over LF and willie will take over CF....bring up jones and/or blanco for OF bench....
there's your offseason plans right there

actually now that i look at the FA class for next year, it absolutely sucks for SP....carlos silva, jake westbrook, freddy garcia, jason jennings is the best available
we might have to trade for 1

Obviously a quality start should be the main goal.
It's probably wishful thinking on my part that AJ resigns at around 80-90 million. I can dream! I'm going to be content as long as we fulfill our pitching needs and bring Tex back.

Its funny how wherever Renteria goes he isn't wanted or deemed expendable.

He is expendable if it means we could get a quality starter in return for him and have Escobar start at SS.

I just dont see anything special about him, yea he did a great job for Florida when they won the WS in 97. I just remember him in Boston in '05 and he really wasn't that good. Boston really regrets not keeping Cabrera around.
