So, the Mets are currently up by 2 games, and have lost 5 straight games. If you had to pick one of the two teams to win the NL East which one would it be?

I predict that you guys are going to say Philly. Although some of you probably still think you have a shot  just kidding...

I think New York will win it. If not, then it'd be a monumental collapse down the stretch.

Which would actually be quite funny.

I honestly think that the New York Mets will win the N.L East this season. The Phillies bullpen is downright awfull right now and I don't trust them a bit in a close game and I don't think anyone else does.

The New York Mets are not doing so hot now either but in the long run I think that they are a far better team hitting and pitching wise. The Mets are a team that you can trust in a close game with there very high powered offense.

3rd is the same as 2nd, both losers. I wouldn't perch yourself so high on the tree considering your joke of a manager is returning..

Oh you misunderstood! I am not "perching" myself at all - I'm completely disgusted and humbled. And for the record, we agree about our "joke of a manager." If Cox were managing this team, we'd be playing tonight!!

ToHoleWithSoul,

Who do you think the Mets are going after this off-season? By trade or free agency.

I could see Omar making a play for Johan Santana but I think the asking price might be prohibitive - Jose Reyes + 2 or 3 blue chippers. Realistically I could see a corner OF bat like Jason Bay, maybe a gamble on Rich Harden if the price is right and a FA like Scott Linebrink (sp?) or Francisco Cordero for the pen. Then we keep our fingers crossed and hope Delgado, Pedro Martinez, and Duaner Sanchez have strong comeback years. We'll be back despite this historic embarassment.

I could see the Braves making huge improvements too since AJ won't be back. JS will probably look to trade Renteria too for some pitching. I can't see you guys locking up Teixeira before he hits free agency though. What do you think?

I think its a forgone conclusion that Tex will stay now that Andruw's out.
