The Atlanta Braves made a pair of roster moves involving right-handed relief pitchers Thursday, cutting Chad Paronto and claiming Chris Resop on waivers from the Los Angeles Angels.
Resop, 24, is 3-2 with a 4.15 in 41 career games for the Florida Marlins (2005-06) and Angels.
Resop was 1-3 with a 4.57 ERA at Triple-A Salt Lake this year. He had a 4.15 ERA in only four games for the Angels before having surgery on his right elbow on Aug. 24.
Resop has completed a rehabilitation program following the surgery, according to the Braves.
Paronto, 32, was 3-1 with a 3.57 ERA in 41 games this season.
