Buyers or Sellers

First time posting here. I frequent the NBA side of RealGm, figured I would check out the Braves site here. I see there are not nearly as many posters here, but anychance to talk Braves, I'll take it.

So, my big debate for the last few weeks has been, are we going to be buyers or sellers. I would prefer to be buyers, or, do nothing at all. I have been a fan since around 89, and so have not had to deal with seeing us giving up on a season almost at all, and would prefer to not start now.

I definitely think the talent is there, if we can just get healthy. Francouer definitely needs to start hitting, which would be a big help. The problem I see with the makeup of our team is, we can't really scrap it and go fora complete rebuild, because of th enature of some of our older guys. That's generally where teams look when they start a rebuild, and obviously, we aren't going to be moving Chipper, or Glavine, and it would be an insult to them, as well as Smoltz to rebuild in their last few years.

Ultimately, I think we stay in it after the break. I think we start off decent out of the gate, and decide to not sell on Tex, and maybe even make a move for another OF at the end of the month.

Let me start over. The Braves have been buyers for years and it's now time for us to sell. I'd love for us to move Tex before the deadline, but will probably keep him, but remember will get a first round pick for him from the team he signs with. I'd prefer us to move him for some solid young talent, but I don't think it's likely for teams to give up too much for him at this point.

Frank may want to see what Hampton does before moving Mark. If Hampton can stay healthy and if the bats can heat up we might be able to make an actual run. (Forcing myself to think positive)

i agree, would prolly be better off selling TEX. I would prefer to acquire another starter or big bat in left.
