We are under 5 hours until the fisrt pitch! Any predictions? Go Braves!

Is there anywhere we can find a projected lineup?

I honestly don't know what to expect tonight.

Derek Lowe vs. Brett Myers should be fun.

The Braves win it 4-1. Our ace Derek Lowe went 8 shutout innings and only gave up 2 hits. The Braves made notice that the NL East is going to be more than a 2 team race. How about rookie CF Jordan Schafer hitting a Home Run in his first Major League at bat!! He wound up finishing 2-3 with the HR, Single, and was also intentionally walked.

So, how many games until Jordan's leading off?

Outstanding game by Derek Lowe and it was nice to see all the HR's.

Haha, I actually liked the move and his placement in the lineup, Bobby couldn't have known this was going to happen. It won't be long I'd say If I was a betting man now! 8-)

I wouldn't be surprised if he was leading off before the end of this series. I'm anxious to see Schafer against lefties and more dominant pitchers than Myers, though. He got a taste of it from Lidge.

I'd expect Schafer to leadoff in the next series.

Game 2 Tomorrow Night,

J.J. vs. Jamie Moyer.

I think it's very important that we get a few early runs so that J.J. can settle into a groove.

Jurrjens is 1-2 during the four starts he's had against Philly.

Moyer is 3-8 during his 13 starts against us. You never know what Moyer your going to get, but hopefully we can jump on him early, and not look back.

I'd be interested to see Jair's ERA in those starts. The way our pitching staff is set up now I think it puts so much pressure on the opposing pitcher that if he makes a mistake or two then he's taken his team basically out of a chance to win the game. Myers didn't do so bad once he settled in last night but the window for error was very small for him the way Lowe was pitching!

Phillies will be hungry for an early season home win, and Jair I'm sure is feeling some pressure to keep up the good stuff from last season.

I expect a high scoring game.

4-0 Braves in the 5th but Jair is in a jam 1st and 2nd 1 out for Philly with Utley at the plate.

Braves improve to (2-0) with a 4-0 victory over the defending World Champions, Jair got the win, he went 5 2/3 scoreless innings followed up by good work from the bullpen. We go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 3 pm est as Javier Vazquez toes the rubber for us against Joe Blanton.

Great win yesterday, although I would like to see Jair get his SO totals up.

Javier is 10-7 during his career against Philly. The bad thing for Javier is that Chipper won't be playing!

Joe Blanton didn't have much luck against us the one time he faced us for two innings.

I still can't believe we blew a 7 run lead in the 7th! It was 10-3 us I went out to eat dinner and got home and it was 12-11 and we were down to our last out, we can't let this linger, last year and previous ones before that it would have lingered for sure. We got Derek Lowe on the bump Friday in the home opener against Washington so maybe we won't even have to see the bullpen. :(

The 7th inning was brutal, but this team can't get down about it, because they won two of three. Let's just hope we handle the three games at home against Washington.

I'm just going to pretend that game didn't happen.

2 of 3 on the road against the Phillies is fine.

Let's sweep the nats.

The more times that passes I'm with you guys about just forget yesterday as if it never even happened. We took 2 out of 3 on the road against the defending World Champions of baseball (NOT TOO SHABBY!), now let's come home and take care of the Nats!

Return to Atlanta Braves
