Well, that was mostly Drew's fault. And I think a decent LF would have had that linedrive that Manny pulled up short on. No matter, it's only a 2-run deficit.

Terry Francona solidifies his spot as the worst manager in the league. Does he ever take a look at numbers? I guess not or he wouldn't have brought Romero in to face 2 right-handed hitters in Teixeira and Sosa. He allowed a .382 BAA to righties last year (.202 vs. lefties) and you bring him in to face two of them? What a stupid **** prick. He is a lefty specialist you dumb piece of ****. Learn you manage your players to their strengths and look at the numbers to do so, dumb ****.

I just don't get why these organizations let idiots run their teams; and pay them millions of dollars to do so. Francona should be working at McDonald's and **** up people's orders, not in charge of managing the Boston Red Sox.

JC Romero vs. Lefties the last 2 years...
2006: .202 BAA, 1.22 WHIP
2005: .198 BAA, 1.06 WHIP

...I suspect Francoma will use him wrong as well but Romero can be a pretty effective reliever vs. lefties.
This is me from the Royals series thread and all it took was series 2 of the year for that piece of **** to prove me right. How the **** does he have a job?

Ok, I'm getting really sick of Francoma.

If he doesn't miraculously learn how to manage the pitching aspect of a baseball game, he needs to be canned right **** now.

No, I've known he was an idiot since his Philly days. He just got lucky and wrote the hottest team in the last 10 years to a World Series.

However, I have tried to stay supportive of the entire organization, but I just can't handle this moron anymore.

Great outing for Schill. 102 pitches after 7; wonder if he comes out for the 8th. Probably not this early in the season.

Papelbon was down right filthy tonight. That fastball has some life to it.

Good stuff from Schill and two bombs from Papi. Nice win.

Papelbon was awesome, but... I wonder if he's overthrowing? He missed the target quite a few times tonight, even though he ended up getting strikes because of swings. Maybe he should take a mile or two per hour off his fastball, in the name of taking care of his arm all season (and all career). I still remember those 5 guys that Pedro struck out in the All Star game at Fenway. It was awesome to watch, but he was never the same afterwards.

He only threw 15 pitches so I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think taking velocity off his fastball is going to do anything for his arm. If his mechanics are good, there isn't anything to worry about. Pitching is a violent motion and taking a couple MPH off of his fastball isn't really going to do anything.

I was at the game, and watching Papelbon pitch, I have to say that his performace was more than impressive.

Three things I learned.

1. Big Papi is still Big Papi
2. He may not be the nastiest Paps on the team with Papelbon mowing people down.
3. Piniero is pathetic.
