Quick Breakdown on Curt Schilling's Contract

Post#1 » by sunshinekids99 » Mon Nov 12, 2007 12:40 pm

Base Salary for 8 million

375,000 per each 10 inning intervial after 130 innings.

100,000 All-Star Game 50,000 more if he starts the game.

500,000 Cy Young

100,000 World Series MVP

1 Million dollars if he recieves a vote for a top three finish in the Cy Young.

Weight Bonus: 6 Weigh-ins, 333,333 if weight is in check.

A few more perks as well.

Seems pretty fair to me. If Schilling pitches great he'll get more money.

As was said before, you cannot have a bad one year contract. Schilling, for all his off field antics, has proven he can win in October and that is what counts.

I'm really not sure what to expect from Curt Schilling this up coming season. I'm assuming the weight clause if he sticks to it will only help him out during the season. Regardless the Sox really can't be hurt with the one year deal.
