What? He's never hit over .293 before. He's a career .280 hitter. Then he hits .324. Hmm, something doesn't fit.

His BABIP over time:

And it's all about the 2nd half, dude. As I showed above. With at least a normal BABIP, he's been a .300+ hitter in the 1st half the last five years. The only (positive) potential fluke the last five years was his 2nd half of 2007. That's it.

BABIP is the stupidest stat I've ever seen. Go look it up I bet you there is a direct correlation between amount of strikeouts and BABIP, guys who strike out more would have a higher BABIP, guys that strike out less would have a lower BABIP.

So youre telling me Jed Lowrie would come in next year and hit 263, 17, 96. Thats 80% of what Lowell did last yr. You're nuts. And you think his glove would be anywhere close to Lowell?

We would have never won a world series and would have struggled to make it to the playoffs if not for lowell stepping up last year. This is a world series team with Lowell no reason not to bring him back. And it's just crazy to complain about 12 million a year when you are saying we could've brought in A Rod... which would have cost us 30 million a year for 10 years. BG you have been sticking up for Jd Drew all year who the sox are paying 14 mill a year, why not stick up for the guy who has actually stepped it up for us the last two years and is costing 2 mill less a year and 2 years less. Plus it's pretty obvious that the fans and his teamates wanted him back.
