Just an atrocious pitching performance from Clay and the relievers (with the exception of Aardsma). The offense battled back and gave us the lead several times but Clay and Tavarez gave it right back and then Timlin turned it into a blow out.

Good win. Manny is such a badass, but especially against the Yankees. It's really remarkable how much he has owned them since '06:

This year: .526/.571/1.105 (yes, that's SLG%, not OPS)/1.677, 3 HR's, 2 doubles, 8 RBI's and 8 runs in 5 games and 19 AB's.
2007: .392/.475/.686/1.161 with 4 HR's, 3 doubles, 8 RBI's and 9 runs in 13 games and 51 AB's.
2006: .556/.667/1.111 (I repeat, that's his slugging percentage, not OPS)/1.779 with 7 HR's, 4 doubles, 21 RBI's and 11 runs in 15 games and 45 AB's.

I'm just wondering why A-Rod didn't get a Beckett fastball in the rib cage with 2 outs in the 8th of a 4 run game after Farnsworth threw a 96 MPH fastball within inches of Manny's head/neck/ear. It was the perfect time and more than deserving when a stiff like Kyle Farnsworth is intentionally throwing a fastball that close to Manny's head/neck/ear. Personally, I'd have Beckett throw within inches of A-Rod's ear, but at the very least, they need to get one in the ribs or back in that situation.

For the most part Beckett looked good last night. That curveball was filthy, darting all over the place and looking a bit slurvy at times. And Manny, egad. He

Yeah, he is the MVP (for the Bruins) of this series and he has been their regular season MVP as well.

Even after a tremendous regular season, I still had my doubts whether he was truly a very good goalie and whether he could get the job done against Montreal and in the playoffs...but there's really no reason to doubt the guy anymore. He just continues to keep the Bruins in games and win games for them despite a weak offense.

Speaking of that weak offense, nice to see the Bruins break out in that 3rd period...even if Price playing awful had as much to do with it as the Bruins playing well offensively. He flat out handed them the Metropolit goal and Sobotka goal. Glad to see Kessel back in the lineup over that goon Jeremy Reich as well.

If they can somehow drop Murray and add Hossa in free agency (he was Chara's best man and Chara was his best man at their weddings) and Bergeron comes back healthy, they could be looking at a cup contending team next year. Hossa+Bergeron is anywhere from 60-70 goals added to a team that is giving the #1 seed in the East hell (and that's not even factoring in Kobasew, who should net 15-20 again next year). Murray has got to go whether they buy him out or trade him and a 2nd round pick for a 7th round pick. He is just so slow and doesn't fit in on this team.
