Your take on Fenway Park adding seats on Green Monster?

Post#1 » by HDMAVS760CA » Wed Sep 26, 2007 7:53 am

I know it happened a few years back but isn't any Red Sox fans who are upset or  about that. People love talking about tradition & what I liked about watching Red Sox games in the past was them booing the Yankees & seeing home runs hit over the Monster & whoever was outside gets the ball. Do you feel that some tradition was broken when the seats were added. Fenway Park coulda added some seats somewhere else. I don't know, has anyone here had tickets to that area? What's it like? It would seem too high 4 me 2 be at, but thinking about someone hitting a home run at the Monster top, some thinking got into my head if someone tried 2 catch a fly ball up there & they slip & fall...just like other areas in baseball parks. Last decade there was talk about building a new Fenway Park with another Green Monster...I guess some renovation was the result instead. Also, what was the reason that the new stadium didn't happen?

I like the seats, I also think they look like the fit with the park. Obviously Fenway needs to bring in more people and it seemed like the logical place to put these people.

I have been up there once. It's a different view that's for sure. But I wouldn't spend that money to go back up there. You miss alot in center field unless you have front row seats. I do have to admit it is pretty cool up there for batting practice. Although at one point I thought Wily Mo Pena was trying to kill people with the rockets he was hitting into the seats.

They're cool. I wouldn't want to sit up there, they're too expensive for the view you get.

I like what they have been doing. All of their additions have done well to compliment the park.

I think the next step should be to add a left field deck to connect the monsters seats and the rest of the seats.

I had standing room only seats on the monster. It was deffinately worth the 30 dollars. The monster seats are really cool, your right on top of the left fielder. Batting Practice is also fun although i went when the TB Devil Rays and the Colorado Rockies played. IMO the monster seats are the best seats/SRO i've ever had.
