Lol honestly.. I hope RedSox loose tonight. I'm not a Redsox obsessor, not really a crazy mlb, so I just wanna see a game 7. Yes I hope Boston wins in 7 of course, just would be great for the sport.

who cares about the sport. step on their neck and put them away tonight. you give them a second chance if they go to game 7 and historically that has never worked out for the sox.

An interesting juxtaposition considering the Red Sox and Celtics. If the Red Sox win tonight (or tomorrow), that will mean the three other major professional sports teams in Boston (Red Sox, Patriots & Bruins) will have the same amount of championships combined as the Celtics have (17). Last time this occurred was April 25, 1965 when the Celtics won their 8th Championship while the Red Sox had 5 and the Bruins had three championships. Thank God it's not the Lakers tying us!!

I was gonna have Lester for MVP, but the way they're treating Ortiz tonight pretty much shows how important he's been.

If we win of course.

But woooooooo

Glad to see all that losing last year didn't have ANY effect on this year.

None.

The Red Sox took down the Cardinals to win their third title in 10 years -- and the first at Fenway Park since 1918.

The reason behind that etching at Fenway Park, was the Boston Marathon Bombing.

It takes more than six months for safety to supplant fear and for calm to wash away terror. What happened on April 15 — when bombers killed three people and injured 260 during at an attack at one of the town's most enduring sporting events, the Boston Marathon — still lingers.

There's the "Boston Strong" rallying call. The "B Strong" etched onto the Fenway Park grass during the World Series games. These gestures have tried to put an uplifting spin on a tragic day.

I heard a Jonny Gomes interview on NESN a few minutes ago... when asked about winning the first WS clinching game at home in X years, paraphrasing:

"Could you see it ending any other way? Turns out that call in St Louis was the best call ever."

Got a legit grin/chuckle outta me. There was more to it than that but that's the gist of it.

Comparison that just came to mind... Jonny Gomes is the Shawn Thornton of the Sox. Neither of those two are from anywhere near here, but both seem to "get it." Bostonians that were just misplaced at birth. Fair to say?
